In creating a skin care plan, it is important to delineate short term and long-term goals. The next step in my practice is to design a 90-day treatment plan to address short-term goals and an overall global plan addressing long-term goals. I like to re-evaluate the progress at 90 days and make changes if needed depend on your goals. SkinMedica® Skin Care Products are designed to improve and promote skin health on a cellular level. Knowing this- it will take some time (45 – 90 days) to see significant improvement in fine lines, texture, pore size and brown spots. Skin care products have to penetrate the outer waxy layers of skin. Knowing this- it makes sense to exfoliate the skin in order to improve penetration and thus the effectiveness of the product. Therefore, I am a firm believer that incorporating both chemical peels and HydraFacial gives my patients outstanding results with skin care in Austin.
Here is why:
1. Chemical Peel— The best treatment for brown spots, pore size, skin texture. This treatment creates a controlled amount of damage to the outer layers of skin. Peeling most commonly begins on the 2nd day after the peel and can last for 3-4 days. My pick: SkinMedica’s Vitalize Peel or the Signature Piazza Peel depending on how aggressive you want us to be in making positive changes with the appearance of your skin.
2. HydraFacial— The best treatment for the oily skin, acne, pore size, rough texture with absolutely NO DOWNTIME. This is an incredible treatment for our clients that want glowing skin…quick! It is also the best treatment to fully exfoliate the skin and remove any of the residual peeling skin left over from a chemical peel. We prefer to do this at one week after a chemical peel to take your skin improvement one step further.
Using both of these treatments as combination treatment series will significantly improve your skin health giving allowing you to appreciate a refreshed appearance to your skin in a few weeks.
