Case 24
Case Details
A 40-year-old woman who lives outside of Austin, Texas was looking for an Austin plastic surgery office for a tummy tuck procedure. After four pregnancies, she felt that her abdomen was stretched beyond what diet and exercise could repair. She worked diligently to get her body back, but was unable to achieve a flat abdomen. After 10 years of trying to achieve a flat appearance to her tummy and secretly wanting to know more about an abdominal body contouring procedure, she scheduled a consultation for a tummy tuck in Austin with Dr. Rocco Piazza.
During her consultation, Dr. Piazza explained that diet and exercise can have a very positive impact on achieving an excellent result, but there are limits to the extent of improvement when the abdominal wall has been stretched out from multiple pregnancies. He explained that the abdominal muscles can separate during pregnancy and can come back together after the delivery of the baby. However, after multiple pregnancies, the muscles don’t always come back together. This can leave a woman with a stretched out and rounded abdomen. A tummy tuck procedure allows Dr. Piazza to repair the muscles, remove excess skin and fat creating a flat, more toned appearance to the abdomen.
In surgery, Dr. Piazza repaired her abdominal muscle laxity contributing to her protruding abdomen and brought her abdomen to its new shape. Her incisions were placed low across her abdomen just above the pubic bone. This gives a lift to the pubic area and allows her to conceal her incision with low-rise jeans or a bikini.
After surgery, she recovered well and was back to performing normal daily activities at about 2 weeks. She is now preparing for an upcoming wedding and is very excited about her new waste-line.
Her tummy tuck was performed in an outpatient hospital surgery center in Austin, Texas.
