Case 254
Case Details
Frequently, patients come to see Dr. Piazza for revision of a previous breast augmentation. This 61-year-old female came to Dr. Piazza with concerns about the appearance of her breasts. She had a previous augmentation with silicone implants about 35 years prior. She was most unhappy with the asymmetry and felt her breasts were “too saggy and too big”. She desired smaller and higher breasts that felt softer and looked more natural. She scheduled a consultation and met with Dr. Piazza at his Austin plastic surgery office.
Dr. Piazza spent about an hour with her taking the time to discuss all the options associated with revision aesthetic breast surgery. Based on her expectations, he planned to remove her current breast implants and perform a full mastopexy (breast lift) then replace them with silicone gel breast implants. Dr. Piazza also placed strattice in her left breast, an internal support to help correct the current displacement of that breast to provide better symmetry.
The patient healed very well, and she was extremely happy with the improvement in her shape, size, and symmetry.
