Case 413
Case Details
This 64 year old patient presented to The Piazza Center for Plastic Surgery to consult with Dr. Piazza regarding breast reconstruction revision, as she desired softer breasts and more symmetry. In 2003, she was diagnosed with left breast cancer and subsequently underwent a non-nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate silicone breast implant reconstruction. This patient was not truly happy with her results and felt as her left reconstructed breast was unlike her native right breast.
Along with the complexities associated with this type of procedure, and due to the patient's medical and surgical history, Dr. Piazza thoroughly explained the risks, benefits, and limitations of a breast reconstruction revision during her consultation.
In order to create more symmetry with a softer appearance to the breasts, Dr. Piazza used various surgical techniques as well as fat grafting from her waistline to achieve the patient's desires.
The patient is shown 7 months after her breast revision reconstruction and is grateful to have had Dr. Piazza deliver her desired results.
