Case 406
Case Details
Feeling uncomfortable and unable to wear swimsuits from a tubular breast deformity and breast asymmetry since puberty, this 18 year old patient scheduled a consultation with Dr. Piazza at his Austin, Texas practice.
The exam revealed, she had Grolleau (an asymmetrical breast deformity) type 3 to her left breast, and Grolleau type 2 to her right breast. Based on the significant asymmetry, it was determined in order to optimize her outcome and achieve her goals for full and symmetrical breasts, a staged breast augmentation would be most beneficial.
For the first stage, Dr. Piazza placed tissue expanders into both breasts. This allowed the native breast tissue to gradually stretch in preparation for the final implant. During the second stage, both tissue expanders were removed and replaced with silicone gel implants.
To further enhance the fullness and symmetry she longed for, Dr. Piazza performed a breast lift and liposuction to the underarm areas which further complemented the breast enhancement.
It has been six years from her procedure, and the patient is thankful Dr. Piazza was able to help give her the fullness and symmetry she most desired, but also a boost confidence while wearing a swimsuit.
