Erbium Profractional

Skin That Looks Pleasantly Firm & Hydrated

With age, the skin loses its elasticity and luster. Laser treatments have long been a way to restore the skin to a younger appearance, but many have been harsh and uncomfortable for patients. At The Piazza Center in Austin, Texas, our hand-picked non-surgical team offers a gentle alternative that yields comparable results called the Erbium Profractional Laser.

An Advanced Laser Treatment

Unlike similar treatments, the Erbium Profractional treatment creates micro-channels in the skin instead of removing the top layer. This difference stimulates the body into starting its natural healing process, allowing healthy skin cells to emerge and increasing the production of skin super-protein, collagen. These micro-channels also allow potent skin medications to penetrate deeper layers of the skin, enabling more healing at the source for long-term results.

What Is An Erbium Profractional Treatment Session Like?

After your face is cleaned and prepped, a topical anesthetic and other comfort measures can be utilized to minimize discomfort. Then the highly customizable Erbium laser is applied to the areas of damaged skin. Our skilled aesthetic nurses fine-tune the settings of the Erbium laser to ensure the appropriate strength level for your skin.

With precision, they pass over the targeted areas at different customizable depths depending on the scope of correction required. It is not uncommon for patients to require a series of treatments to reach their desired aesthetic goals or combine this treatment with other laser services to deliver optimal results.

Erbium Profractional Aftercare

Each patient receives a tailored aftercare plan following their treatment, but in general, expect 3-7 days of downtime. The treated area should be kept moisturized and free from makeup and non-recommended creams for at least 48 hours. Sun exposure is to be avoided, and if venturing outside during the day, patients should wear a full-coverage hat and strong sunscreen. Many patients find relief with cold compresses.

A Multimodal Treatment Model for Best Results

Dr. Rocco Piazza believes in the power of data to ensure peak performance. For years, his highly-trained team has analyzed patient outcomes and learned that a customized multi-layered Annual Skincare Plan is the absolute best way to ensure results that look natural and last long.

Dr. Piazza and his team look at three areas when assessing a patient’s face: skin texture and tone, muscle movement, and bone structure & fat volume. Focusing on just one area can result in an aged or ‘fake’ appearance, which is why Dr. Piazza recommends treating these areas in concert. Before your Annual Skin Plan is created, a comprehensive assessment is performed with an advanced imaging tool called the Visia Skin Analysis.

The High-Tech Visia Skin Analysis

At The Piazza Center, we only use the best aesthetic technology available. Visia Skin Analysis is award-winning imaging technology that can precisely assess your skin’s overall health, and spot any signs of damage. Results can also be anonymously compared to others in your age group to understand just where you are in the aging process. Once Visia Skin Analysis is complete, our team has an objective measure of your skin health.

They can use this data to custom-build your care plan. The Piazza Center stands apart from competitors because we carefully track almost every aspect of care. We perform a secondary skin scan after your Annual Skin Plan is over to assess the success of the plan, tweaking as needed to achieve the desired results. When you’re a patient of ours, trust that we are not satisfied until you receive the maximum return on your investment.
