What Is MOXI?

MOXI is a nonablative fractional laser treatment that penetrates only the top layers of skin to improve the appearance of sun damage and discoloration on the face, neck, chest, and body with less downtime than other laser skin resurfacing treatments. It is safe for all skin types and can be used year-round. MOXI can be used to treat:

Mild sun damage
Uneven pigmentation and freckles, including melasma
Rough skin texture and tone

MOXI works by penetrating the upper layers of skin with tiny columns of heat that cause the skin to generate new collagen, which smooths and improves skin’s appearance as it heals. Since it addresses the top layers of the skin, it is ideal for treating pigment problems and melasma. MOXI can also be used between HALO™ and Forever Young BBL™ treatments to maintain results.

What Happens During a MOXI Treatment?

A MOXI treatment is very gentle, and most patients do not require a topical numbing cream. If you have sensitive skin, we can use cool air or a numbing cream to increase your comfort during treatment, though.

Your laser technician will adjust the MOXI laser to treat your skin concerns. She then rolls the MOXI device over your skin. You can expect to feel a “prickly” heating sensation on the treated areas.

Most treatments last about 30 minutes, and your skin will feel warm and slightly pink after treatment, like a sunburn, for a few hours after treatment.
